Resiliency Center is a unique partnership of the City
of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Independent School District, and Gulf
Coast Center. The Center evolved from the Family Assistance
Center, created immediately after the tragedy at the Santa
Fe High School,

Fe Strong Resiliency Center serves as a free long-term
resource for healing the Santa Fe community. The Center's
caring professionals provide a safe and supportive healing
environment dedicated to everyone affected by the incident.
As a referral hub, the Center works with partner agencies
that provide spiritual care referrals, training, advocacy,
legal aid, equine therapy, recreational therapy, and more.
Leading the Santa Fe Strong Resiliency Center is
Carol Gaylord. A lifelong resident of the Santa Fe area,
Gaylord spent the past three decades in senior management
of a financial institution, while leading a multitude of
non-profit projects and programs. She has been involved
for many years in helping children and families, sponsoring
neighborhood programs, fundraising events, and working closely
with schools and educational groups. Her experiences gained
while as a president and chief executive officer will assist
her in developing and implementing short-term and long-term
goals for the Center.
In the near future, the Center will add to its staff a qualified
Therapist, a certified Art Therapist, Administrative Assistant,
Assistant Director and others as needed. It will continue
utilizing the qualified Social Workers, Counselors and Therapists
from the Gulf Coast Center, Innovative Alternatives, Family
Service Center, Red Cross and Catholic Charities. These
caring professionals work a rotating schedule to accommodate
the daily demands and events at the center.
