Economic Development Corporation
An election was held on May 5, 2001, where the resident qualified voters of the City of Santa Fe approved an additional one-half of one percent (one-half (1/2) cent) Sales and Use Tax.
The City of Santa Fe Section 4B Economic Development Corporation is organized for the purpose of aiding, assisting and acting on behalf of the City of Santa Fe, Texas to promote and develop projects authorized by Article 5190.6, Section 4B, Texas Revised Civil Statutes, as amended, including, but not limited to , economic development projects identified as public works infrastructure improvements, specifically water/wastewater expansion, drainage, and streets and roads, including the maintenance and operation expenses for those projects developed with economic development funds designed to promote new or expanded business enterprises.
The Economic Development Board consists of seven persons. Directors of the Corporation shall be appointed by position to the board. Each Director shall serve for a term of two years or until his or her successor is appointed by the governing body of the City unless the Director has been appointed to fill an an unexpired term in which case the term of the Director shall expire on the expiration date of the term of the position he or she was appointed to fill. Any Director may be removed from office at any time, with or without cause, by the governing body of the City.
The Economic Development Board meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00p.m. at Santa Fe City Hall.. Agendas are posted in City Hall and on the website on the meetings and agendas webpage.

NOTICE OF PROJECT
Public Hearing
Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation
Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 505.159, the Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation (EDC), a Texas non-profit 4B economic development corporation, will receive comments for the next 60 days on the following proposed economic development project in an amount not to exceed $1,503,845.00. The Santa Fe City Council approved the re-pavement of Warpath Avenue from Highway 6 to 6th Street at its regularly scheduled meeting on October 24, 2024. The re-paving of Warpath Avenue will replace the current asphalt street with a concrete street that serves businesses along Highway 6 including HEB and Whataburger, serves two Santa Fe ISD campuses, will enhance safety and reduce future maintenance costs to the City of Santa Fe. The Santa Fe City Council will hold its public hearings on January 09, 2025, and January 23, 2025 at 7PM. Public Hearings will be held in the Council Chambers of Santa Fe City Hall, located at 12002 Hwy 6, Santa Fe Texas 77510. Do you want to be an EDC board member?
EDC is governed by Santa Fe City Council. All projects, funds, and board member applicants will be voted on and approved by City Council during council meetings. A resident can apply to serve on the board. This position is a non-paid volunteer position. Your application will be given to City Council for review. You will be notified by staff with the date your application will be on the agenda. Staff will notify you if you are appointed to the EDC board. If you are not chosen to be on the board, your application can be refiled and you may be placed on a waiting list. The application to apply to become a board member is at the bottom of this screen. Please complete it and turn it into City Hall.
