The Court may issue an arrest warrant when:

  • You fail to appear
  • You fail to comply with an Order of the Court
  • You fail to make scheduled payments

Failure to Appear

If you fail to appear on or before the due date on your citation, a violation for failure to appear or violate promise to appear may be filed against you.  In addition the Court may:

  • Issue a warrant for your arrest
  • Add additional fees per violation
  • Place a hold on your Driver's License Renewal
  • Place a hold on your Vehicle Registration Renewal

Failure to comply with an Order of the Court

If you have appeared and have agreed to pay, make scheduled payments on a payment plan, or any other Order of the Court, you must comply with those orders as specified by the judge or a warrant may be issued for your arrest.

Arrest warrants are issued for defendants who received a citation and/or a court date and failed to appear in court when scheduled or failed to make arrangements on citation.

If you have a regular arrest warrant, your options are:

  • Pay in full.
  • Post a cash bond in the full amount of your warrants to receive a new court date.
  • Payment plan schedule to make monthly payments.
  • You may surrender yourself at the Santa Fe Police Department located at 3650 FM 646 N, Santa Fe, TX  77510.

Capias Pro Fine warrants are issued on defendants who received a citation, have been found guilty by the Court, and failed to comply with Orders of the Court.

If you have a Capias Pro Fine warrant, your options are:

  • Pay in full.
  • Payment plan schedule to make monthly payments.
  • You may surrender yourself at the Santa Fe Police Department located at 3650 FM 646 N, Santa Fe, TX  77510.
  • Request an indigency hearing before the judge.

If you have warrants, you are subject to arrest at any time.  To avoid arrest, you must immediately resolve this matter by contacting the Santa Fe Municipal Court at 409-925-3255 during normal business hours.

Notice:  Under Texas Law, individuals that appear and make a good faith effort to resolve their outstanding Class C warrants are afforded safe harbor and not subject to arrest.  Additionally, if a judgment is rendered against an individual who is unable to pay the judgment, the individual may request a judge assess their ability to pay and offer alternative means to satisfy the judgment.The Santa Fe Municipal Court and the City Marshal's Office is providing an opportunity for all individuals with outstanding warrants to responsibly clear their cases.

We are a SAFE HARBOR COURT, meaning defendants will not be arrested if they appear now and make an effort to resolve their cases. We offer a variety of options to help you resolve your warrants. Payment plans are available as well as court dates to see the judge. We strongly urge you to take advantage of this opportunity now and avoid the risk of being arrested at your work or home. ***WARRANT RESOLUTION COURT WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2024***

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the Santa Fe Municipal Court will be holding a Warrant Resolution Court from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

Any person with an outstanding Municipal warrant in Santa Fe will be able to see the judge directly from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on the above date to handle their cases. No appointment necessary.
